Well, for that reason we must firstly at least assume what types of ships would the Charisian opponents build after the current war.

Oh well, if shortening the front is what the Germans crave,
Let's shorten it to very end - the length of Fuhrer's grave.

Forget Turbines - build diessels with air compressors for control and starting systems.

Diesels isn't good enought for navy. They still haven't been used on surface warships. Too mich vibration and too less power.

Well, i can't recall any large surface warship, build with diesel since 1950th.

For a fast attack boat? A diesel solution will be simplier and more compact than a turbine. For something much larger than 1000 tons you have a point though.

First things first. The submarine is what is used by the weaker sea power to try and even the odds. Charis IS the major sea power at this time. Charis does not need to work on subs, the Temple boys do. Diesel driven PT boats are also a force multiplier used by the weaker side, again something for the Temple boys, not Charis. Now, Torpedo Boat Destroyers to take on the small fry from Desnair, etc.

Please note that it is the SY Turbinia, Never "HMS"

It can still be seen at Newcastle-upon-Tyne

Thanks for the correction Chrisd, the Google source I used called Tuubinia and her sister ships HMS, by the way it went on to say that they were used to develop Torpedo boat destroyers.
