Senjin aren't popes. They serve a distinct purpose in Safehold history, and having a family, a wife and children, would be a serious distraction from that purpose. /shrug It's just easier to assume and have the senjin be untied by bonds of marriage and such.

Senjin...not really a senjin...just assumed the title of such...
