I'm not sure RFC would have the time or room in the book, but...

I keep remembering the conversations Hektor had with Irys. Wouldn't it be nice if we could listen in on some conversations between him and the members of Thirsk's extended family?

Just sayin....

Maybe not all the conversations, but a short segment in the book that deals with their handover from Merlin / Nimue to Hektor, then their transit to safety - either being handed off to a larger galleon or delivery all the way to Claw Island by Hektor and the intrepid crew of the Fleet Wing...

I doubt there was a lot of conversation. Fleet Wing would deliver them to a galleon (likely Baron Sarmouth's flagship) for transport to Claw Island, and transfer to whatever ship will take them to Tellesberg.

As an 18 gun schooner, Fleet Wing doesn't exactly have passenger accommodations, so using it clear back to Claw Island would be unlikely.

The interesting conversations would be between Thirsk's family and Baron Sarmouth, where he'll mention among other things that the Lieutenant whose schooner took their hand-off from the seijins happens to be a Duke, the adopted son of the Emperor and Empress of Charis, and the husband of the princess of Corisande and brother-in-law to Corisande's reigning prince.

That should suitably impress them with how serious Charis was about getting them away from Clyntahn and the Inquisition. (He'll also reassure them that no, Charis won't try to hold them over Thirsk's head as an inducement to do what it wants, because Cayleb and Sharleyan are honorable rulers who don't do stuff like that.)

It wouldn't be entirely inappropriate for Duke Darcos to escort the family of an Earl. To at least as far as Claw Island where they can be turned over to another high ranking noble like Earl Sharpfield who can then send them probably to Mahncher with HMS Fleet Wing helping to provide escort. Also the ICN would want to get Thursks family out of the danger zone ASAP by moving them as fast as practicable and Sarforth probably has a few dozen dispatches to send to Sharpfield and Tartarian. And let's not forget that Hector has a very personal reason to return to Mahncher ASAP.

minor spoiler space

While it might not be inappropriate for the Duke to escort them onward, it would be _extremely_ inappropriate for him to be hunting down Dohlaran warships while doing so. Not because it might trouble them, but because it might get them killed.

They're no longer in his company by the start of the book.
