I'm getting a little far ahead here, but my curiosity got the better of me...so bear with me, please.
So it never gots specifically mentioned what kind, if any, Warheads the GBaba use, radiation, biological, whichever. We do know that their previous victims left recognisable ruins around, so they don't have a "Planetcracker" to make planets into an asteroid belt. So If/ when the Safeholdians make it back to Sol, they will find the 3rd planet, with a large satelite and a 24hr day, right where they left it. Now if irradiated, radiation slowly clears up, sort of, and can be cleaned up, by motivated people. And i imagine, doing so for the motherworld, will be motivational. If the bombardment, frakked up the atmosphere, make it unbreathable, with the right tech, that's also an obstacle to be over come, as long as there is something to hold in the gases, breathable or otherwise. Biological might be a bit trickier, but in another of DW's books, such a disease died out on its own. But my point is, would the Safeholdians, re-terraform Earth and allow people to settle there once again? It might be a good forward base, while they Genocide the Gbaba right back. |

Or it could be a Gababa base if they thought to expand in that direction. especially as they confrunted two space faring species in that direction they might be on the look out for more.

I expect that Earth will most likely be re-terraformed and settled for nostalgic purposes if no other. I also expect it to happen only after the Gbaba have been completely eradicated from the face of the universe.

My guess is that the Gbaba uses rocks for planetary bombardment. There is really no need for fancy weapons (A/B/C) so there would be no residuals to worry about.

It was mentioned in the prelude to OAR, during the 1st attack of the Gbaba on a human world, that they launched missiles from very far out, which spaceships could dodge - but which planets could not, so I expect that they are using some form of NBC. --
A common mistake people make when trying to design something completely foolproof is to underestimate the ingenuity of complete fools. |

Perhaps the Federation found outposts from previous victims of the Gbaba which weren't subjected to complete demolition. It is entirely possible that Gbaba reduced the home worlds of their victims to rubble. we don't know if the Federation found outposts of the Gbaba's previous victims or their outposts. So, we don't actually know that the Gbaba don't have planet busters available. |
