Someone else may have noticed this and posted on it. I searched the posts and did not find it.

I know that our beloved author loves to hide Easter Eggs and make in-jokes in his stories, and Safehold has been no exception. I finally realized tonight that the nation of The Good Guys™ (i.e., Charis) is the English transliteration of the Greek word for "grace."

An in-joke hiding in plain sight all this time.

Duh! :o

Yeah, I noticed that myself. I think that it has been noted on the forum on at least one other occasion.

Found it. viewtopic.php?f=7&t=4660&p=109972&hilit=+Charis+grace#p109972

Not sure why my first search failed to find it, as it popped up really easily the second time I searched. Thanks for giving me the impetus to go look a second time.
