The topic says everything, I'm thinking along the lines of Nimue, Merlin and Green Valley.

Old thread I think.

The first chapter of the first book indicates the name came into use during the 10 year interval between finding one of the world's the Gbaba had depopulated and the first contact with them.

It is not the name the Gbaba use for themselves, and there is no indication of how the Terran Federation came up with the name or of what (if anything) it means.

I'd assumed/thought it was derived from the archaeological remains of a species of Gbaba victims. How they came up with it is likely to remain a mystery.

I'm not talking about how the Terran Federation came up with the name. I'm talking about how RFC came up with it. For instance, Nimue uses names from the Arthurian Legends and Welsh words for her aliases,(also her own name is from the Arthurian Legends)

What? Town in Africa I understand but "Galactic not fit to print biker association"? What are you talking about.

Himself has indicated that it's an acronym for Giant Bad-Ass Biker Aliens. George is being cute.
