Solar Mirror

Discussing this series with my son (who had missed it), we wondered if heating Tran, or parts of Tran with solar mirrors could increase the drug crop during cold times, and make more profit for the Galactics.

Robert Forward sized solar mirrors could raise the temperature, and manage an extra crop every 5or 10 years, instead of only every 600. Might impact the market price, but volume should raise the profits?

If there's a market outside of addicts, this might be interesting. No impact on Mamelukes, of course.

Greenhouses are easier. The variation in the orbits make solar heating more complex as is seen with the discussion on climate change here. If heat is not the driving factor, develop the lighting necessary to continue the yield, along with the greenhouses.

It is the opposite of the ice cave bunkers to survive the Time.

Grow lights to grow indoors.

Just like marijuana. This would eliminate the impact to the planetary ecology as well as damage to human society.
