Forum Rules & Information

Jerry Pournelle’s Janissaries series is alive and well. Drop in to discuss it and — especially— the latest addition: Mamelukes by Jerry himself with a little posthumous help from Phillip Pournelle and David!

I'll ask the web designer to look into it. But in all honesty it doesn't sound like a widespread problem so it's likely the problem is your ISP.

Different computers on a completely different network? Like at the library or Starbucks?

EDIT: Shooting in the dark, I've made a change to how the board validates user sessions. Do you still have the problem?

My ipad is no longer being forced to log back in every time I pull it out, and session on the laptop is more stable. Thanks.

Information needed:
I am very curious about Harry Christopher Crosby Jr.'s educational background and influences.

For a non-fiction book on thinking, I am using several quotes from his interstellar book -- that no methods will replace thought, and that people who work in a discipline believe their discipline will solve all problems. I wonder what and where he studied in his earlier years that may have contributed to his keen observations. Any information would be appreciated.
