BTW, according to an early chapter in the online sample, this takes place about a week after _The Janus File_, thus months before _The Weltall File_. I don't know if it means anything, but the Dyson Realization Project and Mercury are not mentioned at all in _The Weltall File_ (and both had been referenced in both _...Protocol_ titles and eluded to in _The Janus File_).

Two possibilities. One is that The Dyson File was originally planned as Book 2 in publications order, but got swapped with The Weltall File. Anything that might reference the Dyson Realization Project/Mercury then got edited out of The Weltall File because it would be a massive clue for The Dyson File. Possibility two is that The Dyson File was always planned as Book 3 in publications order, because we're going to see time travel from the point of view of Our Heroes being visited by someone from their future - a post Weltall File future. Again, no references were made to DRP/Mercury in TWF because it would give too much away for Book 3. |
