Also, have you tried running it on PC using BlueStacks? That's an Android emulator for PC, so you can play the android version on your PC. There were a few of us who had it running quite nicely when the game first game out, but since then I've rebuilt my PC so I don't currently have it installed.

If you're reasonably tech savvy (it's a pretty simple process, or was when I did it a few months back) then that's an alternative.
