Aye. Most of Australia's early cases were in Queensland. Hot and humid up there.

However it's now popping up all over the country. I'd say it's broken containment just in time for us to go into autumn.

The Grand Sumo Basho is damn weird.

No crowds.

No sips of water.

Masks and hand sanitizer everywhere back stage.

Stuff all advertising.

Another thing about this disease is that it's probably going to be particularly bad for China because of their air pollution and cigarette habit. 1/3 of the population of China smokes and smoking is bad for your lungs. Air pollution is also bad for your lungs. From what I've seen in the US, this virus seems mostly to affect older people who have preexisting conditions and the deaths occur as a result of pneumonia and commonly in people with lung conditions.

It's not something to get worried about to the point of irrational hype.

The supply chain effects as a result of China's disruption will be worse.

Many of the US deaths have occurred in one nursing home in Washington state where the staff didn't implement precautions until too late.

Coronavirus is starting to surge in Oregon. I expect a catastrophic epidemic. The Oregon Health Authority that is administering the response also runs the corrupt Oregon Medical Marijuana Program. Governor Kate Brown is also a frequent marijunna user.

In other news, I just discovered that Oregon residential tenancy laws do not allow eviction of tenants who operate Canaboid extraction systems if they have a license. The OLCC will issue a license to tenants without landlord consent. Google "Butane Hash Oil Explosion.". The landlord's insurance will not pay for the damages. The US Attorney will invoke civil forefeiture to confiscate the burned out wreckage as well as your land.

Oregon deserves a plague.

Sharing needles can transmit HIV. Sharing blunts can transmit coronavirus.

I'm worried about this battle dragging on until summer as someone already mentioned. Summertime colds are a real bitch, making fighting the virus off, and containing it, even tougher.

I'm interested in the statistics of how many among the people who survived it this go round, were consistent with getting regular flu and pneumonia shots. This virus has been around for decades. If people were already exposed to it and fought it off, have they built up natural resistances? As opposed to someone who hasn't already caught it once and haven't had the chance to build up natural resistances.

Age may skew the results, but I'd still be interested in the flu and pneumonia vaccine data.

Son, your mother says I have to hang you. Personally I don't think this is a capital offense. But if I don't hang you, she's gonna hang me and frankly, I'm not the one in trouble. —cthia's father. Incident in ? Axiom of Common Sense

This particular strain is new and different enough from refular Coronavirus types to matter. Previous immunizations have little to no effect.

One thing became obvious: the next president must nationalize US healthcare. The current model is absolute and dangerous disaster - a clear example how "free market" blundered totally and completely without strict government control.

Oh well, if shortening the front is what the Germans crave,
Let's shorten it to very end - the length of Fuhrer's grave.

It would help if we had competent leadership at the top who would assist the professionals in doing their work without getting in the way with bad info and political static.
