It is, indeed, very odd. The official reason put forth by the venezuelan Navy is that they suspected the cruise ship to be carrying mercenaries hired to carry out some unspecified attack against Venezuela, which I can only assume is an expression of Maduro's desire for anything he can blame his failures on. |

Odd is certainly one way of looking at it, yet it seems to have bypassed quite a bit of the Mainstream Media. While it is on the BBC News App, you have to search for it. Looking deeper into the story, we can see that President Maduro's government has accused the crew of the Resolute of being "pirates" and implied strongly that it was "transporting mercenaries to attack military bases in Venezuela". They also said that the crew of the Resolute was "cowardly" for not actively rescuing the crew of the Naiguata... despite the fact that the Naiguata's crew had opened fire earlier on the Resolute! Despite that, the Resolute remained on station for over an hour, coordinating rescue attempts which must have worked, as the Venezualan government has admitted that all the crew were rescued. Between Maduro's anit-American paranoia and the economic collapse of Communist Venezuela, things are going to be a bit iffy around there for a while... ~~~~~~

That is an interesting discussion. Venezuela does have a private sector, on the one hand. The dominant sectors, farming and energy, have been nationalized on the other hand. The government does seem bent on a Cuban style economy although it remains to be seen whether or not they will get there. What Maduro and his cronies are is kleptocrats dressing themselves in socialist rhetoric. They have successfully managed to impoverish what was once one of South Americas most wealthy countries. Of course, remember that kleptocracy can also wear capitalist clothes. What life was like for ordinary people tells us a lot about the state of affairs that paved the way for Chavez, Maduro and their cronies to come to power to start with. It sounds like it was a wacky Tex Avery Loony Tunes cartoon! Hope that some of the “pirates and mercenaries” were able to capture it on video. The “heroic” anti-pirate vessel opening fire with light weapons, without doing damage! The idiotic captain ordering ramming speed, thereby smashing his vessel and sinking it! As a final ignominy, having th“e “pirates and mercenaries” fishing the heroic crew”, wet and bedraggled out of the sea! We need a bit of humor in these times. |

I wonder how many hours it will take to modify the processes at an American pulp and paper mill to produce the specialized material that is needed for the masks. We even have one idle mill near my home that could be restarted just for this purpose. This article explains the problem. The US like Canada has allowed to many industries to be outsourced to China. Now that certain products have become vital for survival, China controls the supply. This of course suggests a motive for China to develop the Chinavirus and unleash it. https://www.spencerfernando.com/2020/04 ... make-them/ |

Yeah, it surely does. How else could the extremely stupid conspiracy-nutters be right. It's amazing that they manage to keep breathing in between their blathering. --- Jack of all trades and destructive tinkerer. Anyone who have simple solutions for complex problems is a fool. |

If the Chinese were not confident that the source of the Coronavirus wasn't the Wet Market in Wuhan, they would not have allowed it to reopen. Meanwhile, it seems as though Russia might be concealing a serious Coronavirus epidemic. Of course with all of the premature deaths from Tuberculosis and AIDS, it will be difficult to notice deaths from the Chinavirus. https://www.nytimes.com/2020/04/03/worl ... ained.html |

Never assume conspiracy when sheer stupidity and incompetence can explain the matter...
Never assume that a motive for making something happen means that it's the real real reason it happened. Far more happens accidently than on purpose.... Sh*t happens. Ignorance accounts for far more bad stuff than malice... *** "Maxims for Understanding Real Life" ---The Don Don - When any group seeks political power in God's name, both religion and politics are instantly corrupted.
