I heard that I was crazy when I said the US must be insane for using Russian made antivirus software. I made that statement right here on this forum on Oct. 27 2017, for the second or third time. I was skewered for it. Less than a week later, this was released to the public...

I must be crazy.

Yeah, after decades of USA using US-developed systems for spying on everyone else, somebody decided to try this on USA themselves) "How dare they", yeah) :D

Well, it is certainly hard to blame your country for this one. If the stolen secrets weren't part of some disinformation campaign, and the US were actually dumb enough to give the keys to the vault to the enemy, then they should have stolen their shit.

When you're that much dumber than the criminals, you got yourself a real problem.

Son, your mother says I have to hang you. Personally I don't think this is a capital offense. But if I don't hang you, she's gonna hang me and frankly, I'm not the one in trouble. —cthia's father. Incident in ? Axiom of Common Sense

To stomp TFY wishful thinking:

The Apple, one of the companies he mentioned, closing stores everywhere - OUTSIDE China. Yes, China is viewed as a safe haven now. They demonstrated, that they could handle crisis, and companies rushed in.

Sorry, TFY. The reality could be harsh, but it is objective.

Dilandu, la-la land must be a bit crowded with you and TFLY sharing it together.

First of all, America isn't imploding or coming unglued. We're stumbling through like we do in all of our crises. That is the cost of living in a free country. Every idiot who has two brain cells to rub together is loudly shouting out his opinion. It's noisy right now.

Actually I am cautiously optimistic. Some of the sorts of things that need to happen are starting to happen. States are stepping into the breach in the absence of leadership from the federal level. Even the fed has started to come around with money allocated to help cope with the crisis. And a national emergency has been declared which helps channel funds as well as shoving red tape out of the way.

We'll make it... just slower than we would if things were "efficient."

Don

If I recall correctly, I was not stating anything like that.

You are confusing retail stores with manufacturing. Apple will still be selling IPHONES IPADS in China for decades, but the actual manufacturing will be repatriated to the US.

Everyone remember several years ago when the "Death Panels" argument were going around the US, and the Administration flatly denied they would ever happen? The Telegraph out of the UK has a report that the Piedmont regional government in Italy is prepared to implement a ban for intensive care to those 80 or older and/or those in bad health.
