Or granting any sorts of legal protection to  homo-sex-uals  :?

Didn't Trump tweet out a general permission to fire all homosexuals in the workplace a few days ago. (Sorry I've been dealing with forest fire issues and trying to get a retaining wll built before winter sets in.)

He's playing stupid juvenile games with the Iran deal in the most damaging way possible to the U.S.

Every party to that deal *including the United States* admits Iran is in compliance.... so he's going to de-certify a deal that is WORKING based on some nebulous "well, they're violating the spirit of the deal" statement? Every one of our allies wants this deal held up. (Except Netanyahu, and he's politically posturing while his own military and intelligence advisors say the deal needs to stay in place). Trump's own SecState AND SecDef say the deal needs to be upheld. Trump can provide no actual concrete rationale for screwing with it. None. He's hugely damaging US credibilty if he ends up tanking this deal and he's actually pulling off the impressive feat of making Iran look like the trustworthy party in this exchange.

But it's Obama's deal, so he wants to sabotage it. Because that appears to be his *only* guiding light in whether or not to do anything. He can't be bothered to actually learn about the issues and formulate informed policy.

This is about the death penalty for the "crime" of homosexuality. Signing it is or damn well should be a fucking no-brainer for any decent human being, but as this presidency shows, decency is no longer a quality valued amongst conservatives.

Yeah, if some country introduced the death penalty for CEOs whose companies caused large scale fatalities this administration would be *authoring* the UN resolution to condemn it.

This has nothing to do with some reverence for the death penalty, it's about not wanting to do anything to protect the gays and anger the far right religious fanatic portion of their base.

Whether the deal is working or not is a matter of opinion. Republican voters don't think it is working and have always hated it. Any Republican president would be working to decertify it.

Actually, no. It really is not a matter of opinion at all. You see, the deal had exactly ONE goal and whether that goal is being achieved is measurable.

Is Iran abiding by the restrictions that prevents advancement of their nuclear weapons program?

And the answer is yes they are. According to every third party monitor.

So the deal is working. And no any Republican president would NOT be working to decertify it, did you miss the part where the Republican SecState and the Republican SecDEF BOTH want the damn deal intact? Almost any Republican would bitch about it while Obama was president because they only care about the politics but most Republicans, as low an opinion as I have of them, wouldn't be this fucking STUPID if they actually assumed office and had the responsibilities of that office to consider. But we're stuck with the moron who can't even understand what those responsibilities are.

Problem is that the administration itself has admitted that Iran hasn't actually violated the deal. And decertifying it is both going to be useless and destroy the credibility of the United States in deals with other countries in nonproliferation efforts (which is not all that great to begin with, mind) and other treaties.

White Men can't jump. Black Presidents can't negotiate. Trump is just out to get everybody a better deal than That Black Guy could. Iran has no negotiating position. They agree to our terms or we nuke them back to 1953.

Speaking as an outsider, but a citizen of a country that is a US ally, you have just said what is wrong with the US's approach in this world.
The US overall has been a positive force in the world, but they can be an ignorant bully as well. The whole waterboarding and Guantanamo circus is a good example. How can the US complain now if some third world country captures and tortures a GI. They have set the rules implying that it is ok.
The nuke them back to 1953 bit exemplifies what has happened in Iraq and Afghanistan, easy to use superior firepower to kill people and break their things, but it does leave a mess that comes back to bite you.

So this happened yesterday:

Trump in a news conference with McConnell: I'm ending these subsidies for Obamacare because they're very bad and only help the insurance companies and cost lots of money and they need to go!

Reporter in a news conference later THAT SAME DAY: Asks him about the bipartisan deal being proposed in Congress to restore for at least the next couple of years the subsidies he just called horrible.

Trump: "The solution will be for about a year or two years. And it will get us over this intermediate hump, because we have, as you probably know -- we have -- either have the votes or we are very close to having the votes. And we will get the votes for having really the potential of having great health care in our country.

So they are indeed working, but it is a short-term solution, so that we don't have this very dangerous little period. "

So to be clear... that "very dangerous little period" he is talking about is the one HE JUST CREATED and the temporary solution he is taking about is UNDOING WHAT HE DID.

And the most pathetic thing is I don't even know if he realizes it.... because he knows NOTHING about health care policy despite claiming it is one of his priorities. He cannot be bothered to learn a damn thing about it. He only has one apparent thought on the subject.... sabotage and wreck Obamacare... then hope stuff works out somehow without him having to actually expend any effort on fixing the mess.

(And no, they don't have the votes. Still. No matter how many times he says it. Because they don't have any coherent plan for the few rational GOP senators still remaining to vote FOR.)
