That will be interesting. Trump's populism will likely manifest in his economic policy. That's a lot of Republican pissing off that's possible there. Tariffs and other import/export taxes, fees and subsidies will tick off a lot of free traders. Enough to combine with 34 Dems that think having Pence as an incumbent is better than Trump? Tough call.

The George Will type of Republicans are still there and I doubt Trump can do anything to bring them over.

I am just going to sit back and pop some popcorn. Its going to be along 2 years for the midterms for some of us. I'll enjoy what I can.

Cheers!

It's going to be a long 4 years for everyone Peter. I'm just going to be curious how much of it your rose colored Trump viewing glasses will be able to take before they lose their tinting. ;)

I am not a liberal, I am still registered as a Republican, though I am ashamed that they are participating in preparing a Kristalnacht on behalf of Trump and his Brietbart scum. But unlike some professed Christians, I actually believe the Lord when He has written

16 ¶These six things doth the Lord hate: yea, seven are an abomination unto him:
17 A proud look, a lying tongue, and hands that shed innocent blood,
18 An heart that deviseth wicked imaginations, feet that be swift in running to mischief,
19 A false witness that speaketh lies, and he that soweth discord among brethren.

Temporarily I can't prove Trump has shed innocent blood(that changes the first drone strike that misses its target or if he actually sends feds to Chicago without a request from the governor of Illinois, contrary to the constitution so many profess as absolute), but he IS an Abomination in all six other ways.

I know I'll be bitterly disappointed with some of his policies. Just haven't seen any yet. So far I have enjoyed the media being led by the nose chasing will-o-wisps. All the while, Trump is doing what he said he would do. Did he plan it this way or is it simply fortunes aligning? Don't know and don't really care at the moment.

I hope my wait to be disappointed will be long indeed, but understand that disappointment will raise its ugly head far too soon. I told you I didn't believe Trump was virtuous, simply more so than the alternative most likely to have replaced him. That says very little indeed.

All that tells me to enjoy what I may, when I can.

That these indignant children and adult snowflakes feel justified in atrocious behavior because they did not get their way is but an incredibly visible symptom of that selective and childish outrage. Accosting people on planes, death threats to 18 year old singers and that rediculously vulgar march in Washington. On second thought, they were no less vulgar than Trump has been so the march was in line with current politics. The rest is simply over the top.

I wish they would grow the F up. This was for those snowflakes rather than any posters on this forum.

I find it mind-boggling that anyone can support and defend someone that sign away the reproductive rights for women. A dead body has more legal rights than a living female one.

In other words, over half of the population in the USA just got far less rights than the other half - and you think that their protest march was vulgar because some of them where pissed off and had placards with choice words?

I have to ask, what fantasy do you live in Peter because trying to justify your point of view by comparing women protesting vs Trumps "grab'em by the p*ssy" reeks of a severe case of belief dis-confirmation due to cognitive dissonance.

Did I say their protests were unjustified? NO, I simply called the manner of those protests vulgar.

We obviously disagree on abortion and so I leave my comments on that issue unposted.

I disagree with you and will in all likelihood not be able to persuade you otherwise. Treating those that disagree with you as if they were some crazy freak is not likely to facilitate understanding their position. In aggregate it is also likely to mean continued loss of support at the ballot box.

Keep it fuzzball. I like having liberals out of power.

Did you see those protests??? Vulgar is a good descriptor. I don't suppose it's possible Madonna is a secret agent for the Trump re-election committee? :D

More seriously Democrats have an opportunity in 2020. The majority of Trump voters don't actually like him. So if they can find a decent candidate and quit insulting the electorate, they can replace him.

It's been an ongoing problem and if Democrats keep it up, they'll be the best re-election committee Trump ever had. These people say it better than I can:

May I point out that if Trump tried to (as you put it) "grab'em by the p*ssy" using the English definition, he'd be in jail for sexual assault.

Yeah, right: Bill Cosby ... Michael Jackson ... Bill Clinton. If I grabbed some woman by her p*ssy, yes, Id be in jail for it. Celebrities and the very rich, not so much.
