We have an interesting incident with a politically correct shotgun.

And we have a shotgun homicide!
https://www.oregonlive.com/crime/2019/1 ... -says.html If I was their defense attorney, I would ask for a change of venue to Yamhill Country so Judge Ladd Wiles can dismiss the case because he is too stupid to understand that a shotgun is a deadly weapon. |

Should be part of the Hollywood Stupid thread, was the Jurassic Park scene where an experienced hunter with a Street Sweeper couldn't handle two raptors. For those other than fly, a Street Sweeper is an automatic shotgun with a rotary magazine. Possibly the deadliest short range weapon available.

An argument can be made that it is a rather badly designed weapon though. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Uoy14h6K5TY |

Not so much badly designed but inherently cumbersome. Some of the modern pump action shotguns with removable box magazines give comparable firepower with less weight more reliability and rapid reloading. Of course the Kel Tec KSG is probably the ultimate tactical shotgun. Sorry to have a fixation on shotguns, but it really pissed me off that my psycho bootlegging tennant got off for shooting at my kid by invoking the Elmer Fudd defense. Back in the 1980s when the US had about 1,000 to 1,500 murders committed with shotguns each year, everyone understood that they are immensely deadly weapons. |
