Today's gem of wisdom.
“If I were in charge, they would know that waterboarding is how we baptise terrorists.”

The rest of the world thanks US voters for not putting her in charge.

You want some Palin-trolling, namelessfly?

She's become a quitter,
she has gotten decadent&lazy as a commentator,
she will never run for any office again,
she has lost her fighting spirit,
she is not Sarah Barracuda anymore.

Love her as much as you want as a Philosopher,
but don't count on her to go out and lead.

As for Drone Strikers, they have no will of their own.

Quite a contrast with Hillary who has spent the last five years doing incalculable damage to US interests.

The thing to remember about Palin is that she is a basketball player. It is a team sport and to be effective players need to be willing to pass the ball. The most effective players allow their team mates to advance the ball down the court while they position themselves to make the basket.

Drone strikes have no will of their own. They are an instrument of the President's will that is no longer constrained by the rule of law or even military strategy.

How soon until Obama is launching drone strikes not only against US citizens but against US citizens in US territory.

Now that is funny, I seriously doubt he'll have time... he's only got 2.5 years left in office. Now, the next President from either party is a concern. The precedence established is disturbing to say the least and as history has demonstrated rarely does an extension of powers get repealed by the next administration.

1 Other people have other opinions. (Unless one
reads "incalculable" as "too little to calculate)

2 Palin has taken her seat on the bench. I will bet
you One Reputation Point that she means to stay there.
Great analogy, by the way! :P

Anyone who does not consider Egypt and Libya to be grievous policy failures is truly insane.

This is why I tend to be apochryphical in my pessimisms. Things are going to have to get so bad that a significant fraction of the global population is dying violent death before pointy headed liberals such as yourself will begin reevaluating their basic presumptions.

Niven and Pournelle understood this when they wrote Lucifer's Hammer.
