What on earth does the EPA (environmental protection agency) think it is up to???
1. It is currently attempting to get permission to monitor stomach flu tweets on twitter to determine feasibility of using twitter to track outbreaks. Sounds like a useful study, but isn't that the job of the CDC (center for disease control)? Or perhaps the NIH (National Institute of Health)? Or even the NSF (National Science Foundation)? 2. The EPA has announced that it has expanded the size an Native American Reservation in Wyoming. The size of the reservation is apparently a conflict of long standing. Umm... Isn't that the job of Native American attorneys and the Federal Courts? Or perhaps the State Department since the whole dispute is based upon treaties? They're already in trouble with congress over whether or not they have exceeded their authority to regulate carbon emissions and other climate change regulations, which is more than enough to keep their lawyers busy. So why exactly are they picking turf wars with the rest of the executive branch? |

You forgot that they also have a "SWAT" team. No one else can enforce their regulations, I guess.

Which should be the job of law enforcement. Most of the things they investigate are non-criminal violations of regulations or white collar crimes. They very very rarely investigate things for which that level of armed support is necessary. So now they've picked another unnecessary turf war, this time with law enforcement. |
