Whatever you believe or not, the next few days will for many be a time of families getting together, eating and drinking too much and generally having a good time.

So I wish you a Happy Easter, Spring Equinox, Fertility Festival, or simply holiday and family get together.

Ironically this morning, Good Friday, it was the most christian daughter who insisted on bacon for breakfast :)

And me, the well and truely lapsed catholic, who cooked fish for dinner. :D

Truly lapsed catholic? Well, let's see about that Annachie.

Did you actually fry the "other white meat" up for your daughter, or did you fry her up some 'gasp' "chicken bacon"?

If the unconscionable gasp bacon, then do deliver unto her my unbridled heartfelt sympathy.

Why did the chicken cross the road?

He wanted to see how the other white meat lived.

Happy Easter Sunday!

Son, your mother says I have to hang you. Personally I don't think this is a capital offense. But if I don't hang you, she's gonna hang me and frankly, I'm not the one in trouble. —cthia's father. Incident in ? Axiom of Common Sense

I never heard that Christians had a problem with eating bacon.
It is we Jews who may not eat it, or any pork dish.

News Item:
Yesterday, in Lahore, Pakistan,
where it seems there are still enough Christians to form a
congregation to celebrate Easter,
a bomb killed at least 69 people at their celebration.

Later News Item:
The Easter Celebration was in a public park, Gulshan-e-Iqbal.
The target seems to have been Christian children, but it
now seems that the majority of 72 known dead are Moslems.

Meanwhile, in Philadelphia, at about the same time,
a man in his forties, a beloved husband and excellent citizen,
tried to break up a fight and was shot dead.

Is it true that Christians murdered on Easter Sunday go straight
to Heaven? What about non-Christians murdered along with them?

It doesn't matter when. What counts is found in Psalm 2:12. Do they really trust God or not?

There are people calling themselves Christians who aren't, and there are people trusting in the Isaiah 52:13>53:12 prophecy who don't call themselves Christian, sometimes because of bombers, neck cutters, etc. What gave me understanding was Isaiah 53:4-6. Many who call themselves Christian are in actual practice trying to bribe God by doing what they should have been doing anyway.
