Received a text on my phone informing me that a device had been added to PayPal and to click a link if it wasn't me who did it.
Two problems. 1) I don't have a PayPal account. 2) The alert stated it happened a month ago (August). The number it was sent from is 44 7310 111350 I have not activated the link provided. ~~~~~~
I can't write anywhere near as well as Weber But I try nonetheless, And even do my own artwork. (Now on Twitter)and mentioned by RFC! ACNH Dreams at DA-6594-0940-7995 |

Thanks for the warning.
Haven't seen this one before, but often get similar. I do have a PayPal account but it has caveats so unlikely to be vulnerable. It does beg the question of how do people get up in the morning saying, "I know what to do, have thought up a new way to steal money that others have worked hard for"?

Different socialization/life lessons. Different people extend the courtesy of "someone to treat as a fellow human being" to different extents. For some that list is "pretty much everyone". For others it is "Just me". Most lay somewhere in between. The people who pull those scams tend to be those with the shorter lists. |

Quick question: What do you guys use for mail that doesn't filter out this bottom-tier garbage?

As stated in the original post, this was a text on my phone. As far as I am aware, phones generally don't have filters (with the exception of the Block List). ~~~~~~

Ah, but you can still backstep slightly. Try explaining to a young child how a Payphone works and what it is intended for. They're so used to smartphones that the notion of a public-use corded phone is almost incomprehensible to them. There's at least one story online of a child seeing a landline phone for the first time and asking if it was tied to the wall because it was naughty... ~~~~~~
