The current controversy about Will Smith slapping Chris Rock, reminded me of the Honorverse duelling protocols.
While duelling shouldn't be condoned in a modern society, it would lead to a more polite society. Insulting a woman because of her embarrassing illness deserved a husband slap, if not pulsars at 20 metres.
Pity that Putin can't be called out.
