Hence the bit about no posts for the users. and does the user number really matter, if so many of them donta ctually use the site? for example http://forums.davidweber.net/memberlist.php?g=2&sk=d&sd=a&mode=group&start=1100. page 56 of 172 before you reach users with one post, and page 92 before you reach users with 2 posts, if you sort the members by posts. Half the registered users have never made 2 or more posts. almost 2000 users in that group. therefore i was making the suggestion that if the website was hitting storage problems, and it had the possibility of causing more problems in the future when we hit the limit again, then how could the problem be slowed?

Looking through the rankings, theres a lot of users there over a few years old, that apparently havent logged in since their creation, with no posts. maybe a cleanup of users and old threads might help?

But that wouldn't be very nice. Consider someone who was a prolific poster and rose to the top in ranking, who cannot post now because of physical disabilities, but may still peruse the forum. Why punish their former effort and accomplishment? Plus, the total member count would drop.

Besides, archived posts are educational. Not to mention that present posts will one day be as old as the ones you recommend destroying, even if the owners are still active.
