Pretty neat model. Unfortunately for them we know what an interstellar ship actually looks like, and it ain't that.

The last time I looked into this the energy requirements for a Alcubierre drive were down to the Mass-Energy of Jupiter, which is about the same as your average supernova


(IIRC the requirements first calculated where more than the Mass-Energy of the entire universe)

We're currently down to a requirement of ~700kg. But the additional requirement for a bunch of exotic matter is what's killing this thing at the moment, given that noone has so far managed to find any out in the world.

Makes you wonder if you made the impeller ring this large would the compensator also be this large and allow for ship docking for LAC or the like.
