The next Safehold book, Amazon claims, appearing January 2019. Alas, no EARC is expected. Snippets are also uncertain.

Himself mentioned TFT at MantiCon. The Manuscript has been submitted and Tor release for January. However, Tor does not do eARCs like Been does.

why doesn't David just do a release with out the publishers? I have read lots of great stories by Indie authors, they are able to get them out a lot quicker with out having to wait for a Publishing house to put them out!!!

1)Indies don't get advance payments. 2)New books in existing series are generally encumbered by the terms of the contract for the early books (in general, the publisher has a right-of-first-refusal on any subsequent books). 3)Indies generally don't get shelf space in book stores. 4)Indies generally don't have hardcover releases. I am sure there are other factors I am forgetting. |
