How much did the stress of losing Emily and believing
they had lost Hamish and Samantha increase the strength
of their bond?
How much did it increase Honor's abilities?
Will she be the new first test subject for receiving a
memory-song?

Not much, I think, if at all. It might have served to clarify, or rather make Honor more aware of certain parts of their link. But I don't think that sudden awareness was because their link was stronger than it was before.

I think both Honor's and Nimitz' were slowly increasing vis a vis their link. And because of the ready availability of celery replacing that awful tasting and somewhat rare plant cats needed for their ability is increasing even the feral cats' abilities.
