Thanks to Drak's gratifyingly regular posting, we now have snippets from the book to discuss. Axelrod has now appeared with occupation force, presuming their mercs victory. How that will play out has yet to be revealed. "Travesty" getting ready for action.
I know that this hasn't been the most popular subject on the forums nor Travis the most popular character. But it does offer something fresh to discuss, and it seems a pity not to take the opportunity. I liked the exchange between Travis and the parlamentary committee. I find myself appalled at the struggle of the navy to get decent procurement to maintain their ships. Breakwater should be shot... I wonder how Chomps will play into the plot. Then link them. Post them. Display them in the thread.

Hedonist! I will try, but I'm not sure how it's done. Don - When any group seeks political power in God's name, both religion and politics are instantly corrupted.

At the risk of being the party-pooper, I feel I must point out that the term SPOILERS should be in the title as the book has yet to be published in non-E-arc form.
...sorry. ~~~~~~

Party Pooper!!!! HAHAH SPOILER I must say this has started off really well and quickly got down toward the action. no long chapters of sceen setting - it follows on directly from the last book. I'm also really enjoying the regular snippetting - like those old radio shows where it always ended on a cliff hanger. What will our heroes do next??? In fact I'm off right now to see todays [friday] snippet! |

Oh, but the pure joy of hedonistic, ritualistic, idealistic tendencies! LOL I'd link or post them myself if I knew their location. Son, your mother says I have to hang you. Links are free!!! "Near the top?," where??? It's the human element. You are assuming that everyone knows where that is. Its well known to you because you've been there plenty of times. You are also assuming that cthia knows where that is. I do not. When we abbreviate "SoV" for Shadow of Victor, and the many other acronyms that people ruin their post with by injecting too much redaction, isn't as bad as when we assume too much and on top of it, dispense with convenience. Where is the snippet forum? Everyone on the forum is an individual and he/she drinks as much of the Honorverse as they require. As they require. Everyone hasn't scoured the many forums. When I first joined the forum I came across a fellow who had been a member for a long time, but he didn't know that there is a Politics subforum. To reach your audience and gain a few more along the way. DO NOT ASSUME. And always employ convenience. Humanity loves convenience. Humanity also loves humanity. The snippet thread in question can be found here. Hope this helps. I have the E-arc of CtV already (good book, interesting twists and Murphy works overtime in several of the scenes), so I'm more interested in people's reactions to it than the book I've already read. Let the reactioning continue! Is reactioning even a word? ~~~~~~

Pardon my underline. It is now, amongst us, since it has just now been established. It is the notion of a dialect—dialectical words, idioms and phrases. Language is never meant to be static. Language learns itself. In the beginning of time, there was only one tongue. When man communicated so well he learned to build his structures tall enough to touch the face of God. Thank you for the link!!! Son, your mother says I have to hang you. Personally I don't think this is a capital offense.
