I am new to the HH series I discovered it a little over 6 months ago. Fell in love with it right away. The main story line now has something like 12 or 13 books in it and i have looked and looked for a omnibus or set editions of this series and cant find one. Mr. Weber do you think you could authorize a set collection something along the lines of books 1-5 in one set books 6-10 in another and wait until you get to 15 and then release a third for books 11-15. or at least offer it as a books 1- what ever is the latest book number as a ebook quick buy. although i do not know if you have control over if this can or cant be done if you do have some say or control over this could you at least take a little time out of you hectic schedule and think about it. oh and one last thing Mr. Weber if anyone wanted proof that your doing the right thing with offering books for free is a great idea I got your first 2 HH books for free have purchased the next 4 (this was because i got hooked off the the two freebies while sitting waiting on delayed flights) and have read the others through my local library.

If you absolutely cannot afford the books, you can hit up http://baencd.thefifthimperium.com/. There are E-versions there for download, and is authorized by Baen. They only go up to Mission of Honor, since afterwards Baen stopped distributing CDs, but at least that will get you 90% caught up.

There haven't been a lot of experiments in 'too-big-to-print' eBook omnibuses, though I'd like to see more of them. It'd be nice to be able to get everything in a series to date in a single purchase, even if you didn't save any money by doing so.

Also, don't just read the "main line" books. It works OK for the first while, but near the end, a lot of stuff happens in the anthologies and the Torch and Talbott branch novels that influence the Manticore branch. These bring the total up to 26 or there about. That would be a HUGE omnibus.

I have posted the entire list of books, in publication order, recently. It should be easy to find. (Edit to add: last post on page 95 of the "ramblings and musings" thread.)

There are more books than 26 if you count the 3 Star Kingdom and 1 (so far) Manticore Ascendant novels.

Admiral [noting yet another Manty tech surprise]:
XO, what's the budget for the ONI?
Vice Admiral: I don't recall exactly, sir. Several billion quatloos.
Admiral: ... What do you suppose they did with all that money?

Yup. lets just hope that Mr. Weber thinks this is a good idea to try and offer it. I'd buy it and I even own 3 of this series in paper form.

Thanks for the book list!! and yes it would be a huge omnibus if it was in paper form most likely weigh about 20+ pounds. but in ebook form would be nothing. many authors that have multi book series offer sets or collected works now with Mr Weber his collected works to date would fill a nice size book case. but i do think more authors should think about doing it in ebook fashion.

And how. He is currently releasing a limited edition of this series in dead tree and dead animal format. A gorgeous leather bound set that looks amazing on the bookshelf.

It's not really up to Weber, and Weber is not the best person to evaluate whether this is a good idea. The decision is up to Baen.
