When is the main line narrative going to be added to?

There was an exchange of posts back in 2012 on the subject of when the sequel to A Rising Thunder was going to come out. Unfortunately this bogged down in a discussion of whether and to what extent the Shadow of Saganami series and the Crown of Slaves series were part of the main narrative sequence. While this is interesting it leaves unanswered the main concern of the addict: when's the next hit due?

So, I repeat the question: when is the narrative, in whatever form, going to move on from where it was left off at the end of A Rising Thunder/Storm From the Shadows?

David has several other commitments ahead of him before he can get back to the next main Honor book. He anticipates starting it in 2016.

I was kind of afraid of that, but it's good to have some authoritative statement.

Thanks!

Thank you also. It must be very difficult NOT to spend too many hours writing. Seriously, think of the burn out potential. I love to write, but after only a few hours of doing so, it is really time to do something else. Anything else.

Also curious as to what RFC daily schedule is? Does he have a strict routine, or does he enjoy variety and spontaneousness in his activities of daily living? I for one love taking many notes so there is something written down. Memory going.

Wow! With his total word count, it would be very easy to get the Universes and story lines confused. How does Mr. Weber do it all? It would take a computer to keep track of it all ... or a very big room with lots of note cards tacked.

I love this forum. HB of CJ (old coot) A lowly Cm.

I know there is a very large computer file of honorverse background stuff, because Duckk mentioned getting an updated copy at GenCon a few years ago. I'd assume there is a similar one for other projects he's done, though not quite so huge.

I have the impression that David has, like most professional writers, a space that he he goes off to to write every day for X hours or Y# words.

Ack. "Starting it"? Nothing to do but go around and around on the same old discussions for the next year or two?

Well, there will be a few other things to do. There will be one or two more books in the Travis Long series and a new Honorverse Companion in the meantime. There will also be a couple non-Honorverse books from Weber. You could reread the entire series, of course. Or check out some of Weber's favorite authors. Or you could write a database containing the definitive fan compendium of Honorverse knowledge. :D

The scary thing is that there is over 500 hours of audio books for the Honoverse and anthologies.

Think about that a second that's 3+ weeks of listening 24/7.

And every time I reread or relisten I catch something I missed or I forgot. Which may just be a statement on my retention after all.

Enjoy,

PS And the Weber folder for my music is 6.5 gig of 16 mps files. TERRIFYING at ~6-7 meg per hour.

Obviously can´t say how RFC is, but personally, as an amateur writer with a memory that is, shall we say, playful, i have over 30 stories i´m adding to as often as i can, while i´m working on 5 or so (wildly different) game systems, and it´s actually not a problem at all to keep track of which is which.

Even though most of the fiction is fanfiction with several same characters used in multiple settings.

Making mods for computer games, now THERE i tend to get totally lost. :P

Maybe Eric or Tim will be able to get something done before then.
