Posted in hopes The Authority will respond (briefly).
What did you originally intend the spelling of this planet/system name to be? I have always assumed and (erroneously) read it to be an inverted spelling of the word "nowhere". Which seemed quirkily fitting to the origins of the inhabitants. But I have noted recently that even the earliest refs to this system spell it with the w before the h. Was that intentional or a typo? dreamrider |

It's probably a reference to the Samuel Butler novel, but of course I am not His Celeryness. ~*~

Yeah, my wife The Librarian just found that.
Now I wonder if Butler made a typo. <grin> |

Those of us with a spelling impairment were unable to figure it out until someone explained it to them.
It makes perfect sense for organized crime to invest there money Nowhere rather than Somewhere where it might be found. I wonder if the Erewhon wormhole junction was kept a secret until the colony was well enough established to defend itself from the police?
