I always loved the one about treecats and threats coming in two types. Those suitably dealt with, and those who are still alive.

But my absolute favorite was when Elizabeth asked "How many of there super dreadnoughts do they want our cruisers to kill, before we bring up the battle cruisers?"

From the Stephanie Harrington books:

"Ah, that was very efficient of you, Karl."

It has been said a few times. But I will never grow tired of hearing it. Can't you just see Shannon's face when she does it. I have a niece whom does the oops thing uncannily well! Busts my rib.

My seven-year-old son has found the perfect way to get out of trouble. As soon as he realises he's done something wrong, and we've found out about it, he looks at me with this worried face and says "Can I say oops now?" :)

And oh God, the most horrible line of any of the books ever:

"The Peeps won't get us, baby. We're safe now. Mommy made it safe."

Agreed. A truly horrible beauty in that line.

Yeah, it's a loooong line, but it's still a one-liner...technically.

"Until, that was, Elizabeth Adrienne Samantha Annette Winton, Grand Commander of the Order of King Roger, Grand Commander of the Order of Queen Elizabeth I, Grand Commander of the Order of the Golden Lion, Baroness of Crystal Pine, Baroness of White Sand, Countess of Tannerman, Countess of High Garnet, Grand Duchess of Basilisk, Princess Protector of the Realm, and, by God's grace and the will of Parliament, Queen Elizabeth III of the Star Kingdom of Manticore, and Empress Elizabeth I of the Star Empire of Manticore, swung lithely out of the boarding tube at Duchess Harrington's heels."

...just how long *did* it take Elizabeth to learn to write her name as a child?

Also, from "Obligated Service":

"It's a good job."

Dammit, you made me cry all over again. It's horrifyingly beautiful; It's one of the best and worst lines in the entire damn series.
