well - six months to the day since Russia started their 'short victorious war'

I think we can safely say two things:
- that did not go to plan did it?
- they should have read RFC and not that foul Dougin creep!

on a lighter note: HIMARS == multi drive missiles?

Good afternoon my friends, it's been too long since I've stuck my oar in here.

Yeah, I think we can safely say that the Russian battleplan suffered the same fate that most battleplans meet, it didn't survive contact with The Enemy.

I played the military (Naval actually) intelligence game throughout much of the late Cold War and it became evident to me that the Russians did damned all little to update their tactical playbooks plus depended on ill planned logistics.

Even a sailor like me KNOWS that an army will wilt and quickly die in the field if it runs out of bullets, beans and fuel as the army trying to move on Kviv did.

I could do a full afternoon dissertation on the mistakes made due to the failure of Russian C3 (Command Control and Communications) causing 2 - 3 and even 4 Star equivalent Generals to move from their protected command posts in the rear to come to the front to see what the hell was actually going on, and then falling prey to sharpshooters. The last score I saw was at least a dozen.

And their NAVY!!!

I've enjoyed reading through your discussion on the Pacific War and may drop my 2 cents in on it a bit later (my opinion probably isn't worth that 2 cents, but there it is.)

I hope y'all are doing well.
****

Just my opinion of course and probably not worth the paper it's not written on.
