Actually, according to RFC, child adoptions are rarer. But the series seems to imply that the children capable of being adopted are fairly phenomenal, which is why they're all front and center characters.

Hey, Cupists! Why is no one shipping 'cats around here? :D

Oh no reason. Other than the fear of reprisal from said angry treecat if you miss, with activated unretracted P-38s.

We at Cupid Incorporated Limited Esquire (CILE) have developed a safer version of just dipping celery in potion. Treecats seem to like that stuff.

I can't recall. Does cat to cat pairings work similarly to human cat pairings? And some human to human pairings? 'We saw sparks when we saw each other, love at first sight.
Can anyone remember the book that Nimitz and Samantha fell in love?

I would not be worried about what Eloise would do to the smutsies.I have beeen thinking about Sharp Claw's reaction if the smutsies upset Eloise.Sharp Claw is Eloise's treecat bodyguard and treecats know when anyone is upset. Sharp Claw might just deal with the offending smutsie appropriately or he could try the "simple little foreign creature" approach and just shred their clothing and equipment the way Hera did when Steadholder Muller upset Allison. Hera and Nelson are two of the treecats who migrated to Grayson.
Here is Alison's thoughts about the incident in Ashes of Victory. "It was remotely possible, she conceded, that Hera would never considered climbing the steadholder's back unannounced if she hadn't caught the spike of Allison's emotions when Mueller made his way over to admire Faith and James after delivering his speech. And it could be that Nelson wouldn't have somehow gotten himself tangled up in Mueller's feet when the steadholder squeaked and tried to leap away from the completely unexpected weight and needlesharp claws scurrying up his spine. Not that Hera had hurt him in the least. She'd been very clever, never breaking the skin even once, despite the havoc she'd "accidentally" wreaked on his formal attire's expensive tailoring." "for some reason he'd seemed mildly irritated when she'd smiled sweetly and pointed out that one could scarcely expect such simple little foreign creatures to understand all the nuances of civilized behaviour".

I have been wondering what the Smutsies (Haven's equivalent of the paparazzi)are going to say about all these treecat bodyguards. In At All Costs Tom Theisman thought that "some of the Stories about Elizabeth III and her alleged .....relations with her treecat, for example, had been decidedly over the top.Not to mention, he felt sure, anatomically impossible."

Tom and Eloise need matchmaking treecats. I mean, it's kind of hard to ignore your feelings for someone when your furry bodyguard-slash-advisor is patiently telling you over and over again that you're completely missing the obvious. (And it is obvious. Not that she'll ever stop loving you-know-who - he was her bloody soul mate, after all - but you-know-who would be the first in line to tell her to wake up and smell the in-love Secretary of War.

I'm sure the smutsies will have plenty to say about the prospect of treecat bodyguards. Tom and Honor are going to have to remind Eloise very firmly that her days of assassination are over. Also she's the President and there's that whole pesky "freedom of speech/the press" thing that she can't really violate without undermining the Constitution she spent decades fighting for. :D But this is Eloise, after all....

Two treecats who I'd like to see become romantically involved are Sharp Nose and Hera. Hera is one of the treecats who migrated to Grayson. She is the treecat who shredded steadholder Mueller's clothing when he upset Allison. Sharp Nose is Nimitz's brother. He was very amused when Nimitz and Honor bonded. I think the two of them would go well together and I would like to see more of both of them.

They meet and pair up in Honor Among Enemies. Samantha comes home with them after Harry Tschu is killed.

We don't actually see their first meeting. The first hint we have of Samantha's existence is one scene when Nimitz lets Honor know he is going out on a date. Apparently they had been dating each other for some time by then. Honor suspects that the attraction is serious, and notes that this is unusual among bonded treecats. Apparently, usually bonded males usually just have short flings.

Short flings?
Is that a treecat euphemism for whoring around?
Celery is the new viagara!

Sharpnose is Nimitz' brother? Does Nimitz have more family that's listed? How did you get that tidbit on your plate?
