Peter, you're confusing things in Beowulf orbit as being part of Beowulf Alpha.

They're not. As evidenced by Beta and others also being in orbit.

The missiles are made on Ivaldi Orbital Works #1, and presumably 2 and 3.

Not an industrial annex on Alpha.

You might also have noticed that text specifically brought up blocking ships for Ivaldi 1.
As if it were seperate from the orbital habitats.

Oh, I can assure you many, many systems would like to buy Manticoran military hardware. Some might not immediately start reverse engineering it or have someone who will sell it off to someone offering to make them richer than their wildest dreams. Maybe.

That's Mycroft though.

The GA will likely want to sell off older bits of tech wholesale (like pre-Apollo MDM systems) because they're no threat for the GA and they're relatviely easy to reverse engineer or buy from other sources (especially with the League having its own MDMs).

Sure, some of those obsolete and useless Mk23 and Mk16s. They come with the tech manuals, right?

More the older MK14s, the pre Saganami CAs, prepod SDs, all the antiquated-by-SD(p) platforms to offset the cost of all those new Nikes and Sag-Cs. Not good enough to take on the GA but good enough against Mannerheim. Which was the point some people were making for reselling the old SLN SDs. and the ounter argument: yes but who will want them.

Remember if you don't have a navy it takes decades to build the personnel corps. Torch was struggling with the few frigates Hauptmann supplied them at virtual cost. They were swamped by the old ruisers that Roszak captured and donated to them.

It’s doubtful they have mass stocks of the old missiles. Remember that the MA blew up the 3 main naval bases for the RMN. And producing new ones isn’t likely to be high priority.

They wouldn't have to sell the latest tech. The Sollies had an export version of their stuff and there is no reason why the GA couldn't do the same.

And I somehow expect the Demonic Duo to be better than their real-world counterparts at ensuring it's not relatively simple to bring 'export-grade' stuff back up to the standards of the original ...

Yeah, even using Haven's pre-Grand Alliance systems would be better than anything the SLN had. Heck, from podnoughts, to carriers to Cimetere LAC, those ships are valuable to anyone without Alliance first line tech. License the designs to Alliance yards after the RHN completes their upgrades to the current post Demonic Duo standards. Keep the RMN's current penultimate generation tech for second tier Alliance systems or new additions until they can afford to upgrade.
