The On Basilisk Station is 15 years older than Off Armageddon Reef ('93 vs '07). Its at least a mildly interesting that the peak age brackets could also fall into a roughly 15 year offset (late 20s to early 40s) - makes you wonder if the Honorverse fans got into that series at the same average age as Safehold fans; but have simply aged along with it.

(Probably just a coincidence thought, but it caught my eye)

While this poll is fun and very informative, it now raises in my mind a related question. How many of the respondents voted for only one of the series? I read both of them, but obviously, due to differences in taste, some people read only one or the other. One half of the poll shows 109 at this time and the other shows 107, but I would bet the total number of people who answered was closer to 130-135. Perhaps Poker can devise a poll to find out how many read only one series, how many read more than one and how many read them all.

Hi KNick,

I read only the Honorverse, not Safehold, which is far too churchy for me. So I am an age 63 vote for Honorverse only. :D

There are two more Honorverse only votes in that age bracket and 3 Safehold only votes. Differences in the number of votes in each age bracket show that there are at least a few one series only readers. There is absolutely nothing wrong with that as YMMV. It simply means RFC appeals to a wide variety of people.

Almost exactly 5% of the registered members voted (needed 1 more) and it appears the Honorverse appeals to an older crowd than Safehold. So far, there is no way to determine how many read only one or the other and how many read both. But I would guess we heard from most of the frequent posters, so we probably got a good representation of at least the die hard fans for both series.
