Actually I'm thinking it would be fun to hook Ruth up with a Clinksdale, given that would make her family (and sorta including Torch) sept and 100% under the protection of the overall Harrington Steading, plus because Judith was originally from Grayson. Talk about family ties!

Ouch...

given that ruth is single that could work, she's not very close (4th?) to the throne so the marry a commoner part of the constitution may not be really in force, but it no doubt could be helpful and an excellent way of given them some leverage against the nutters of masada.
Actually Ruth is not in the morganic inheritance line at all, that was part of the deal when Michael Winton married her mother, Judith being already pregnant. But it would sure make sure that all of the Bad Guys in the Universe got the message that "mess with one of us, we're all coming for you with mega-tonnage range "clubs" and you will not survive the beating".

hmm i do like the way you are thinking there.

yes the massada's have dubious contact with reality but even they could see just how bad it would be to try touching Ruth if she has married a grayson, espcially to one who is sept to harrington.

though i suspect unless she gets dragged home t it'll more likely be a beowoulfer/torchie/manty ex slave

After all he has Sir Horace's example that mixed marriages do work.

[*later: same game with other characters...]

I was thinking that for quite a while until I realized that Susan is an amount older than Scotty, though in a prolong society that likely matters diddly squat. She might look at him like a "younger kid brother growing up and doing well", which is worse than being friend zoned.[/quote]

Maybe Susan is a cougar?

Please. We all know that Susan is destined for Stephen Westman.

Here's a project for you: find someone for Bernardus van Dort. (Not Dame Estelle. She's taken.)

Samiha Lababibi? (former president of Spindle, currently TQ Minister of Treasury)

I mean, he's likely to see a lot of her, and I don't think a husband's been mentioned anywhere ...

On more correction; Judith had given birth to Ruth prior to Michael Winton delcaring his love and their subsequent marriage, per the short story "Ruthless" in the 5th Short Story collection.

As for Mercedes Bingham, I've often thought about her and Alfredo Yu, with both of them having worked together with Honor on the Protector's own...

Alice Truman. Even though she seems to like Younger Blonde Fellers for crew.

 rose, you owe me a new computer monitor now for the tea I just spat out.

I think Van Dort's like a pre-Paul Honor. He just doesn't see women in that nature anymore, after his wife died of old age because he couldn't get her prolong.

Buzzz.. wrong answer. We don't know how she died. She disappeared unexpectedly and he never really tried to get over it because he blamed himself. Helen Zilwicki sorta "kicked his butt" about it, and he agreed with her.
