OK, OK...
I have TRIED, really I have, to not post this, but now I've been teased into it...

In the movie "The Hunt for Red October",
the character Andrei Bonovia (portrayed by Krzysztof Janczar {credited as Christopher Janczar}) is an officer (presumably the first officer) of the V.K. Konovalov.

His comment is directed towards Captain 2nd Rank Viktor Tupolev, Commanding Officer of the V.K. Konovalov (‪portrayed by Stellan Skarsgård‬).

FFI, see this video:

1:55 in to clip he says my favorite movie line:

"You arrogant ass, you've killed us!"

Which, when you think about it, pretty closely parallels Captain Mizawa thought about about Joseph Byng:
..And they obviously know where that asshole Byng's been talking to them from. I can hardly fault them for wanting to kill his worthless ass, but I'd just as soon they hadn't decided to kill mine at the same time!

"Let's make it passives only, but if a gnat breaks wind aboard one of those ships, I want to know about it."

Michelle Henke Storm From the Shadows.

Is it just me, or does this novel serve up aplenty meat and potatoes?!

Rereads are just as thrilling!

I seem to notice that every other word out of Michelle Henke's mouth makes me break out laughing. No wonder I like the Quadrant so much...

I too, love her sense of humor. I must add that it was quite unexpected considering her exalted birth, as I am sure Honor was very much surprised, albeit pleasantly, way back when they were roommates.

What's really funny is when I recall Honor's first trip to Mount Royal Palace and witnessing the banter between Michelle and Elizabeth. I can just see Honor's eyes bulging!

Reminds me of when I visited some of my friends in England and witnessed the normal conversation between English parents and their children! :o

I actually found myself a bit surprised by how much I turned out to love Michelle Henke. I always liked her, but she was kind of on the back burner while I was busy swooning over my Havenites and my Graysons and my Admiral and his Governor. But one day it just kind of hit me that I really, really loved her and I couldn't wait for the next Shadow book because Michelle Henke? I love her.
