Who would make a good Honor Harrington in a Movie/TV role?

I just finished watching an episode of Prime Suspect on NBC and found myself wishing that there would be a part, a big part, for Maria Bello in the movie. What an honest, dynamite actor she is. Any ideas?

Not in this one but in the next she might be a good fit for Alice Truman. Maria Bello has some serious acting chops.

I thought maybe Patricia Givens, but that is too small a part for my taste. Truman is better.

I have to say that coming up with actors for the early books, OBS,etc., is a challenge, since I tend to consider the characters as they are now.

However, I think that if the movies start with OBS Molly Quinn (Alexis Castle) could do a good job as Honor. She is young enough to look the part for the series, has shown that she can pull off the serious part, and has a bit of the exotic in her look. I would hope that the movie would take a bit of artistic license and not do Honor's original haircut as described. I know it's supposedly part of her character but please God no!

First you pick 18 year-old Molly Quinn as Honor and then list a number of actors here who are not going to make it to the second or third films: Amanda Tapping is 46 years old and will be over 50 by the second film and by the time we see her as Pritchard in a movie she will be almost as old and creaky as I am; Mark Harmon is 60 years old-I watched him play quarterback for UCLA 40 years ago-and beginning to look his age; and what's with all the Bones, Firefly and SG1 actors? Josh W. is not involved in this project so he won't be selecting his favorite actors for the films.
But you went to a lot of effort to come up with all these names. Good try if this is a one-shot project.

I will admit that many of the actors on the list were people I think about as playing characters during later books, such as Emily Deschanel as older Honor. As for the shows, I watch them, which makes me more familiar with the actors on them.
