They can do artificial limbs, eyes, etc. for humans - couldn't they try to come up with a prosthetic voice module? (similar to the vocoder the mute lizard guys in the Excalibur Alternative have)

They'd need to know a lot more about treecat neurology, I think. There's also the problem that, unlike a prosthetic limb which replaces an existing capability, giving a treecat speech would be adding something new - 'cats simply don't have the neural structures to run a vocal apparatus. |
