You know, this concept is actually rather humorous. Quiteso!

People in the Honorverse that you wouldn't want to couple and procreate.

Victor should be forbidden to procreate with Cordelia Ransom! The makings of a natural genetic monster!

Son, your mother says I have to hang you. Personally I don't think this is a capital offense. But if I don't hang you, she's gonna hang me and frankly, I'm not the one in trouble. —cthia's father. Incident in ? Axiom of Common Sense

Anything should be forbidden to procreate with Cordelia Ransom. Particularly given that she's a demon from the deepest pits of Hell, and not an actual human being.

Here's something to chew on. What about Elaine Kormandorski rising back to power and prominence by running into someone rich and powerful and rising from the ashes like the phoenix?

But who is rich and powerful enough that doesn't want to see her dead? Or just powerful.

What about Elaine and Firebrand? The MAlignment could use her to infiltrate certain elements of Manticoran government, since she intimately knows Manticoran society. With reworked nanoplasty(or whatever the hell it's called) she could take on a whole new identity and could become a Mesan agent. It's not like she has any scruples. And she's desperate.

With the Ballroom on her trail, could even the Malign do enough to protect her from certain ... creative .... vengeance?

That would require ... artificial techniques. And sedating the Great Kaja for the duration. And a considerable period thereafter.

I was under the impression that the Alignment was after Elaine just as much as the Ballroom was, at the end.

Doubtful, I think. The "North Hollow files" she controlled had a weakening effect on Manticore, so I'd imagine they'd have been just fine keeping her in play. Are you thinking of Descroix? (Countess New Kiev if I remember right... (?)

I probably am thinking of Descroix. But my thought was that after she lost control of the North Hollow files, she wasn't very useful to anyone. Her only utility really was her access to the Young family and those files.

Her usefulness can be reborn, reacquired and redirected. She exhibited extraordinary raw talent and resolve. And her skill set and survival skills are natural -- intuitive, when sifting thru the ashes that she survived. In her glory days -- the North Hollow files era -- she became intimately acquainted with the social scene of the Manticoran society. She could potentially become a MAlign super agent used to infiltrate certain areas on Manticore. The MAlign has the ability to redesignate her identity (I think.) I am under a nagging suspicion that the MAlign has been watching and knows of her exploits. She is a perfect person to recruit for MAlign dirty work.

Two word: Tree cats. She comes within range of a tree cat, and the claws come out.

Literally.

Descroix was married to the something of Gray Harbor, and the leader of the Progressives. Marissa Turner is Countess New Kiev and was the leader of the Liberals (and the only one of the major figures of the High Ridge government who's both alive and not in prison, though she has withdrawn from politics).
