For myself, born in 1980.First book i read that got me hooked was Mutineer's Moon from the Dahak Series which i read from the library. Never stopped being a fan of DW since then and is always eagerly awaiting new releases, imho my ranking of the series i preferred would be

1.HH
2.Dahak (alwasy have a place in my heart since its the first series that introduced me to DW)
3.Starfire
4.SafeHold
5.Bahzell

Came to MWW through Starfire, then the Dahak books and only then to Honor about 5 years after OBS was written

Every time I bring this survey forward, another 8 to 10 people respond. It is encouraging that this forum is still gaining new members at the rate that it does. It is also encouraging that so many are under thirty. There is still hope for the book industry.

Must be... 25 years since my primary school teacher described me as the person with more books than the local library!

First discovered Baen (and RFC) in 2004, in Brazil of all places. Looking for a book to read on the plane home, and had a choice between Hulk and War of Honor. As I'd seen Hulk, decided to risk my money on WoH... and have never regretted that decision.

Twenty-three, discovered the Honorverse thanks to the insidious perfidy of TVTropes right before Mission of Honor was released (...I think), and got my first e-reader pretty much entirely so I could carry the entire series around with me. :D
