I'm not criticising Her Majesty's style of driving (I'm not stupid, those corgis are vicious), I'm just remarking that it would a little alarming to someone who's accustomed to being chauffered about in an air-conditioned Roller or Bentley, on wide, smooth roads, with a police/military escort to make sure there's nothing remotely in the way.
And the SB officer shoehorned into the back seat is saying, "Mum, I do wish you would let us drive. That's what we're paid for."
