'Fanatic' and 'From the Highlands', because Victor Cachat is the only person for which "crazed cold-blooded assassin" isn't an oxymoron.

'A Ship Named Francis', because the Honorverse needs more humour unencumbered by plausibility.

I also love the two McQueen stories, and the Charles ones, and, well, almost all the rest!

The only ones I particularly dislike are 'Changer of Worlds', 'Beauty and the Beast' and 'Obligated Service'.

From the Highlands, hands down.

Followed closely by "Beauty and the Beast".

I'd love to read a sequel.

Maybe team them up with their Havenite equivalent this time, too.

A Ship Named Francis is also my favorite, with Fanatic and From the Highlands dueling for 2nd and 3rd.

Deck Load Strike and A Grand Tour are definitely the worst of the lot.

Yup. Escorting a convoy of valuable supplies to a world in the Talbot Quadrant. They get jumped by Sollie commerce raiders.
Get the popcorn ready.

A sequel to FtH or SNF? Because you probably haven't read the Crown and Saginami series.

I...suspect you've forgotten which one SNF was :? (unless you're insulting the officer corps in Talbot, which isn't justified IME).

Agreed that a sequel featuring the SLN would be amazing - sort of like that Bellerophon scene* in SVW but much funnier.

*Inexperienced RMN bridge officers panic, react slowly; Havenite captain still astonished at how quickly they reacted.

I would like to see it too. The only problem? There aren't that many inexperienced RMN bridge officers around anymore. ;)

The Billy Ruffian was on a 'milk run' giving JO's and inexperienced Officers time on the books. IIRC the guy in command was the ships comm officer and probably way down on the list of combat qualified officers like 6 or 7th on list.

A sequel to a Ship Named Francis. Throw in their Havenite equivalent in 'a joint exercise' or 'good will tour' and stick them both far, far to the rear 'where they can't possibly do any damage'.

Maybe add a Sollie raider with a captain that believes all the press clippings about how outmatched the SLN is and that thinks that the Manty, Havenite and Grayson navies represent 3 of the 4 Horsemen of the Apocolypse who crew their ships with tactical geniuses that are really 10 foot tall and bullet proof.

I think that dropping the Sollie in right on top of them just inside the hyper limit- where nobody can just cut and run could be interesting. :o

Then let the Frankie and the Havenite version of them blunder their way through the fight while the Sollie misinterprets their every move until his mind vapor locks, he loses his nerve and surrenders.

Or you could vindicate both ships by having them rise to the occasion- but that's too serious.

And I have read the Crown and Saganami series and pretty much everything else Weber's written except for the Multiverse and War God series. Never have been able to get into either one, they just aren't my cup of tea.
