I'm 99.9% sure i've purchased and read all of the Honorverse books. I can't recall this event. If anyone knows which book, if any, where this occurs I would appreciate it if you let me know.
Thanks Roger |

I think it is only mentioned in passing after the event. Haven't got the books to hand but I recall that it was very unsucessful and somewhat bloody. I'm almost certain that it was never described in detail anywhere. John |

I think it takes place between Ashes of Victory and War of Honor but is only referenced indirectly.

Yes. Not ever shown. I remember a comment by someone, possibly David, that it just wasn’t that big a deal and they would probably never write a story about it.

Yeah, it took me half of forever to figure out that it was a "noodle incident."
(I would link to the definition, but it would be like dialing into a black hole, as far as the amount of time you could waste on tvtropes, unless your self-control is iron-clad; ie, better than mine.) |

Slight disagreement.
Generally a "noodle incident" is an event not explained but mentioned by the people involved in the event. With a strong side note of "I don't want talk about it" or "you really don't want to know". IIRC The Manpower Attack on Catherine Montaigne was a "we don't want to make that mistake" comment by people who heard about the event and are getting annoyed by her & her lover. Of course, the reader knows what actually happened even if we don't know the details. In a true "noodle incident", the reader doesn't know what happened but wonders what happened. Oh I got stuck reading about "noodle incidents" over on TV Tropes.

It was Eric Flint, I believe, who said that - Cathy, Anton Victor, and the Ballroom boys are all his characters. To him there was no great story to really tell. A Rogue Manpower manager decides to do something about the Montaigne issue and sends a kill squad to do so. The Ballroom hears about it. Zilwicki and the Ballroom make life messy for the Kill squad. The End. ******
RFC said "refitting a Beowulfan SD to Manticoran standards would be just as difficult as refitting a standard SLN SD to those standards. In other words, it would be cheaper and faster to build new ships." |

It is in Crown of Slaves; conversation between Kevin Usher and Eloise Pritchart. Tried pasting this in three times, and it lost its formatting each time -- so I will separate paragraphs with an empty line. Rob
